“I had never
lost my Identification card and I do not even know where is Tawas Baru, Ipoh (the
place where the fixed line was applied), and I was shocked when Telekom
Malaysia Berhad send a letter to me informing that I owe them that amount of
money. I felt very distress when I keep on receiving calls and letters asking
me to clear the debt and they even want to charge me in the court if I am
unable to pay them” Yong claimed. “I had made a police report in March 07, 2008 and gave it to Telekom
Malaysia Berhad. I thought that everything was settled until I receive a lot of
calls from few debt collectors. The latest I received those calls was during
October. ” he added.
“This is not the
first time we receive such complaints. Moreover what is the point of hiring
until 6 companies to collect debt from Yong” Dato’ Theng Book
(Head of MCA Selangor Public Services & Complaint Department) said. “Why Telekom Malaysia Berhad wait until such
an high amount then only send letter to Yong?” Dato’ Theng questioned. He will discuss with Telekom Malaysia Berhad
regarding this matter.

SERDANG MCA PUBLIC COMPLAINTS BUREAU CHIEF PAYS A VISIT TO STROKE PATIENT
Allan Liew (Serdang MCA Public Complaints Bureau
Chief) pays a visit to Lim Kok Meng (age
54) who is a stroke patient. Lim who
is now single and jobless is facing financial problem and wish that Allan Liew would
help him to apply for any foundations which he is eligible. “This is a sad case and I am empathy with
him as he face a lot of unpleasant experience, such as his youngest brother
passed away due to cancer, his mother passed away too subsequently and his
younger sister is now diagnosed with cancer too” Allan Liew said. “I will help him to apply 1MCA foundation
which will give him fund if he go for surgery and most important is to apply
Orang Kurang Keupayaan Identification Card (OKU) so that he could get fund from Jabatan Kebajikan
Malaysia” he added. He is also concerned that there are a lot of employers
did not help their employees to apply for Socso and in the end when their
employees will face problem if there is any needs for medication fees and this
happen to Lim’s condition now where there is no fund from Sosco given. He also
added that employers should take care of their employees’ welfare.

In addition, Mr. Allan Liew also
voice out his dissatisfaction on the way Jabatan
Kebajikan Malaysia (JKM) in Ulu
Langat Branch doing their job because he had received a lot of complaints
from applicants after applying for the fund at JKM Ulu Langat, there is no
feedback to them. Moreover, they took a long time in processing the
applications. There are also cases where those people who applied had passed
away then only their family members received a letter from JKM Ulu Langat
saying that the application had been approved. “JKM Ulu Langat should increase their manpower and do not use the
excuse on lack of manpower in speeding up the application processing. Besides,
JKM Ulu Langat should increase more Chinese Officers because applicants are
facing communication problems during interviews as most of the applicants in
Ulu Langat are Chinese whom not all understand Bahasa Malaysia” he urged.
He also added that hopefully next week he is able to go to JKM Ulu Langat to
resolve the matter on those applications which are still not approved yet after
a applied for a long time.
SERIOUS WASTE PROBLEM AT TAMAN KASTURI
Wednesday November 28, 2012 - Serdang MCA is concerned with the
continuous waste problem which is getting serious and is welcoming all sorts of
pests (rats, flies, worms, germs & mosquitoes). Since the Selangor State
Government took over garbage collection, the waste problem is becoming out of
control and it is worse than before. The waste problem is causing the residents
living in fears due to the unhealthy environment and there are already few
cases of diseases (denggi & skin diseases) infected by residents living
nearby.
In 2011, the Selangor State
Government aims for four times in a week for garbage collection, but action was
not taken after all. Moreover, the State Government informed residents that
they can contact directly to local government on any waste problem which they
are facing, unfortunately, the problem is not solved until now. In addition,
even though numerous complaints had been reported by Serdang MCA and even published
in the newspapers urging the Selangor State Government to look into the waste
problem issues seriously but yet it is in vain. So, what is the use of the asking
residents to contact directly to them since, the State Government does not even
care about the news on waste problem which was published in newspapers

minor problem as it could cause death !

problem located nearby the rubbish pilled up on the above photo. From left : Vince

In addition, the State Government
had made a purchase of 50 new waste compactors (between RM150,000 to RM160, 000
per compactor ) and another 50 units were on the way from China which the
objective of it is to solved the waste problem, but yet, the waste problem is
still not solve. “What is the use of
purchasing the waste compactors as the problem is still there? What is the
actual schedule of the waste collection in each area in Serdang? Mr. Allan
Liew (Serdang MCA Public Complaints
Bureau Chief) questioned. “The
residents are interested in the amount that the State Government able to save
but is the solution of the waste problem. We cannot blame their contractors
because money paid to them had been cut down, therefore their work also will
cut down and do not look at waste problem as a minor problem as it could cause
death” he added.
In the recent Budget
2013 by the Selangor State Government, they announced that a total cost of
RM80,948,216.13 was saved ever since the State Government had took over the
garbage collection compare to period when Alam Flora was in charge and the cost
saved will be given back to the nation through the rebate of 25% to the
low-cost flat house. Although during PRU-12, Pakatan Rakyat had already announced
the reduction of assessment fee as the manifesto but yet, it is still not
implemented. Mr. Allan Liew would like the Selangor State Government to
explain, how they save that total costs in details. He added that, money was
saved but who suffer in the end? The nation will suffers. He also said that the
State Government sacrifices the nation health in order to save the rubbish
collection costs. If the State Government
would like to implement the 25% reduction for the assessment fees, why only
low-cost flats house will be entitled with it and how about others and why the
State Government have to wait until PRU-13 is around the corner and then propose
again on this reduction of assessment fee and why not implement immediately?”. Mr.
Allan Liew questioned. “If the State
Government keeps with their slogan “Hasil
Negeri Untuk Rakyat” then which means everyone should be entitled with the
reduction of the assessment fees and not the selected category or does it means
that only low-costs flats residents are “Rakyat:”and others are not ” he added.
He also challenges the State Government to publish out the lists of their
contractors so that people will be able to know whether their contractors which
the State Government hired are reliable or not and also publish the agreement
between the State Government with the contractors because the State Government
is lack of transparency and is not following with their principle “C.A.T”
(competency, accountability, transparency).

SELANGOR YET TO REDUCE ITS ASSESSMENT FEE
Wednesday November 21, 2012 - SERDANG MCA has lashed out at DAP for putting up a banner urging residents of Taman Megah Flats Phase Two to register their details to receive a 25% reduction in assessment fee.
Serdang MCA public complaints bureau chief Allan Liew Sin Kim was surprised that DAP would put up such a banner as in the general election in 2008, DAP’s manifesto was to reduce assessment fee by 25% immediately in Selangor. He added that the state has yet to reduce its assessment fee.
Liew said the banner also had the faces of Serdang MP Teo Nie Ching and Balakong assemblyman Yap Lum Chin with several MPKJ councillors.
The banner urged residents to register at a counter set up at 10am last Sunday at the flat compound.
“DAP should have implemented it four years back when they took over the state.
“What is the intention of asking the residents to register? Why do they need to register?” Liew questioned. “If the state is implementing a reduction in assessment fee then everyone should be entitled not just the residents here,” he said. “Even if the state government has announced the reduction, the residents should not have to register. “Everyone in the state should be entitled to it,” he added.
Meanwhile, Liew said the MCA service centre in Taman Megah, Cheras is now open from Monday to Friday (10am-5pm) and 8pm to 10pm on Thursday nights. The centre will be offering services for the BR1M 2.0, MCA Insurance Scheme, 1MCA Edu-cation Fund and the 1MCA Micro-credit Loan. For details, call Liew at 012-339 2989.
